What is an Urgent Care Center?

Urgent care centers provide care for ilnesses and minor injuries that require immediate attention, but are not severe enough for a trip to the emergency room. Urgent care centers are also helpful when your family pediatrician or primary care physician's office is closed or unavailable. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis, with no appointments necessary, and reduced waiting times. An urgent care center also offers significant savings over a visit to the emergency room. At Care4U, you will always be seen by an experienced emergency physician.

If a medical problem is life-threatening, call 911 immediately

When to use an urgent care center?

For minor emergency conditions, go to an urgent care center. Here´s a list of illnesses that could be treated at an urgent care center. It isn´t a complete list, but it includes the most common minor emergency conditions:

• Twisted or sprained ankle
• Cough, cold, sore throat

When to use the emergency room?

Again, if you´re facing a serious situation – (stroke, heart attack, severe bleeding, head injury or other major trauma- go straight to the nearest ER. Don´t take a chance with anything life threatening. The ER is the best place for these and other critical conditions, including:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Focal weakness, altered mental status, and syncope
  • Severe chest pain in adults no related to trauma
